I Can't Find Any Photos of My Dog
When I attend an event I really try hard to ensure that I get a picture of each and every dog . . . I even try to make sure they are good pictures. Sometimes it just doesn't work out.
If you are wondering why you can't find a picture of your dog, let's start with the basics.
- I didn't get a picture of your dog. This doesn't happen often, but it does happen.
- The photos I did get were not usable. Possibly they were out of focus, perhaps it was something else. For whatever reason, I decided the photos I have are not high enough quality to offer.
- I lost your pictures (gasp!). Before I go to work I make at least three copies of the pictures, one working copy and two backups. Nevertheless, I still manage to lose an occasional group of photos.
(NB a typical Regionals photo shoot involves 12,000 to 18,000 photos and occupies more than 100GB. Three copies of these files fill more than a typical home computer hard disk)
I have standards and I don't want you to buy a photo expecting it to look amazing on a print the size of your living room wall, only to find out it is little more than fuzzy picture.
DON'T GIVE UP...
I keep every photo I've ever taken. I can probably dig up a picture of you and your dogs somewhere. If you would like me to look through the archived photos for a particular picture contact me and we can work something out.
I have one of the best camera/lens combination for taking action pictures built by some of the most talented engineers in Japan, but it still needs to be able to find something distinct to focus on the subject.
There is one more final reason for your photo not being online. I just haven't completed the preparation. Did I mention some 12,000 to 18,000 photos? I look at every photo, I copy them, I sort them, and I arrange them online so you don't have to search through thousands and thousands of photos to find the one of your dog. Rest assured I'm working hard to get everything online in a reasonable time.
